12000-year-old Hasankeyf’s sad story

At the present day Hasankeyf is just a small town in southeastern Turkey on the banks of the Tigris River with a population of about 3000 people. But its age is more than 12000 years and it was an important political and economic center of northern Mesopotamia a long time ago. But now Hasankeyf is at a risk of being put under water after construction of the Ilisu Dam.
